Adams County ICE Release Paths
The official ICE listing identifies Adams County Detention Center as an immigration detention facility. CoreCivic calls the operation Adams County Correctional Center. Both names refer to the current Hobo Fork Road facility. It is not the downtown Adams County Jail, despite the similar county name, and it does not use the sheriff's iSOMS release feed.
An ICE departure is not one single event. It may be release on recognizance, bond, an order of supervision, or another immigration process. It may instead be transfer to another ICE facility, removal from the United States, or delivery to another authority. A locator disappearance therefore cannot be translated into “released home” without confirmation.
| Possible departure | Best confirmation |
|---|---|
| Community release | ICE facility or ERO confirmation and immigration documentation |
| ICE transfer | Updated ODLS result or ICE confirmation |
| Removal | ICE or immigration-case record |
| Other-authority handoff | ICE confirmation plus the receiving agency |
Search Adams County ICE Custody
The ICE Online Detainee Locator System, commonly called ODLS, is the first search. One route uses a nine-digit A-number and country of birth. Add leading zeros when needed to reach nine digits. The alternative route uses exact biographical information. Exact spelling and country information matter, and security or age rules may limit results.
- Open ODLS and choose the A-number or biographical search route.
- Enter the required country of birth with the A-number, or use exact name and biographical fields.
- Review the displayed facility or status and make sure the identifiers match the right person.
- If the result changes or disappears, contact the facility or ICE information line rather than assuming release.
- Request the relevant immigration or facility documentation when historical proof is needed.
ICE states that ODLS can include current detainees and people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days, subject to security exclusions, age limits, discretion, and upload delays. It is not a complete historical release archive. No result can mean release, transfer, removal, delay, an excluded record, or incorrect search data.
The broader Adams County release search helps distinguish an ICE event from county, state, or federal criminal custody. Use it only after identifying which authority actually held the person.
Note: ODLS supports a current or recent status check, but the facility and ICE record supply the stronger event confirmation.
Adams ICE Facility Contact
The official ICE facility listing is the authoritative source for current detention operations and contact guidance. CoreCivic's operator page supplies the facility name, location, and main number. Contact details and visiting rules can change, so consult the live ICE listing before taking action.
20 Hobo Fork Road
Natchez, MS 39120
Facility: 601-304-2500
ICE Detention Reporting and Information Line: 1-888-351-4024
DRIL hours: Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern
The official ICE facility page is shown in the successful project capture.

The capture confirms the current ICE role, which governs the locator and release route instead of the county sheriff system.
ICE DRIL offers language assistance and is the fallback when ODLS does not settle the outcome. Be ready with the A-number, full name, country of birth, and known detention location. Ask whether the person is still detained, was transferred, or left ICE custody, while recognizing that protected case details may not be available. Record any new office or facility name and verify the routing on an official ICE source before sending documents.
ICE Detainers and County Release
An ICE detainer can connect the downtown jail to the Hobo Fork Road facility without making them one operation. ICE explains that a detainer asks a law-enforcement agency for advance notice and up to 48 hours of additional detention so ICE can assume custody. Thus, Adams iSOMS may show a county Release Date even though the person entered immigration detention rather than the community.
The county release field and the ICE intake record document different ends of the same movement. The first closes the Adams County booking. The second shows continuing custody under ICE. When both are available, compare the timestamps and identifiers. Ask ACSO for the transfer destination and ICE for the current location or status.
- Detainer
- A request tied to another authority that may lead to a custody handoff.
- A-number
- The immigration identification number used in an ODLS search.
- Transfer
- Movement between custodians or facilities while detention continues.
- Removal
- An immigration outcome distinct from community release in Adams County.
County court records do not decide the full immigration outcome. Likewise, an immigration locator does not replace the county booking record for the earlier arrest. Keep the two record systems separate.
Adams ICE Release Records
ODLS is designed for locating a person, not for producing a certified, permanent history. When the exact event matters, ask the facility or the responsible ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations contact what record can be provided. Immigration proceedings and federal court records may also document orders, but a court date is not necessarily the physical departure time.
A focused inquiry should include the full name, A-number, country of birth, the Adams County Detention Center location, and the approximate date. Ask whether the maintained record identifies release from ICE custody, interfacility transfer, removal, or another handoff. Seek only the fields needed to confirm the event.
ICE may restrict information for security, age, privacy, or case reasons. A missing public result does not override those restrictions. If a legal representative needs case access, use the attorney and legal-visit instructions on the current ICE facility page and the proper immigration case channel.
Note: A precise A-number and date range can improve routing, but they cannot make restricted immigration information publicly disclosable.
Former Federal Prison Records
The Adams County Correctional Center previously held federal prisoners under a BOP contract. That history explains why older federal records and news reports use the same facility name. It does not make the current ICE operation a BOP prison. Current detainees belong in ODLS, while a former federal prisoner from the earlier period may appear in the BOP Inmate Locator.
BOP covers federal inmates from 1982 forward. Search by BOP, FBI, DCDC, or INS number, or by name with optional age, race, and sex. A former-prisoner result may show a release date and a released or not-in-BOP-custody context. That status means BOP no longer holds the person. It does not rule out custody elsewhere or continuing federal supervised release.
Match the date to the operator. An old BOP register number and federal sentence belong to the historical contract period. An A-number and current ICE listing point to immigration detention. The same street address or “Correctional Center” label does not merge those custodians. When the time period is unclear, compare the known detention date with the official ICE facility record and the BOP result before deciding which agency should receive the request.
For older federal proof, request the specific BOP record and consult the federal court docket. Do not use the BOP locator as the primary route for someone currently held at Hobo Fork Road by ICE.
Verify Adams ICE Outcomes
The strongest confirmation pairs two sources. Use ODLS with facility or ERO confirmation for a current transfer or recent ICE departure. Use a formal immigration record or order when the legal outcome matters. If another authority received the person, confirm intake with that authority rather than stopping at the ICE departure.
Date labels must remain exact. An ICE release date refers to the end of ICE custody recorded by ICE. A county release date ends the earlier sheriff booking. A federal criminal release date concerns BOP custody. Those events can occur in sequence, and merging them can create a false story about when the person returned to the community.
A federal court docket can supply a detention or release order for a criminal case, but it does not replace an immigration custody record. The U.S. Marshals Service also lacks a public historical released-prisoner locator comparable to BOP. For a federal defendant, consult the court docket and then the authority that actually housed or received the person. That is a separate branch from the present ICE operation. Each source should be labeled with its custodian and event date.
No public source in the research establishes a routine release hour, exit door, family waiting area, transportation program, or fixed property process for this facility. Use the current ICE listing and facility line for operational instructions.
