Mississippi's official service is Mississippi Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification, known as MS SAVIN. It is delivered through VINE and VINELink. MDOC's SAVIN guidance says the confidential automated service tracks people in participating county jails and MDOC state custody. Public registration is anonymous and is not limited to a direct victim.
For Adams County, VINELink is useful when checking a specific person or waiting for a custody event. Participating agencies may send release, transfer, return-to-custody, escape, and abscond-supervision updates. The notice is triggered when the agency updates its electronic booking or offender record. That process explains both the service's value and its limit: VINELink reflects what the source agency entered and when it entered it.

A released Adams County Jail entry and an MDOC custody entry describe different records. County release ends one local booking. An MDOC result concerns a state corrections episode. Transfer to ICE, another county, or MDOC can make a person leave the Adams jail without reaching the community. Adams County VINELink Release Fields
VINELink is a status and notice service, not the certified county release record. The useful result is the custody phrase tied to the named agency. A release alert establishes that a participating source recorded an event. It does not always supply the exact legal basis, release code, bond authority, destination, or a final sentence computation.

Read the event narrowly. “Released” from Adams County physical custody does not rule out transfer. A “transfer” alert does not identify community release. An MDOC event does not certify a county bond release. If the distinction matters, request the ACSO booking and release sheet, the MDOC release document, or the relevant facility record.
The Adams jail's public rolling views help corroborate a recent event. A populated Release Date supports release from that booking, while a blank field does not. The portal mixes intake and release records, so mere appearance in the list is not enough. For an older event, call the jail or request the release sheet. If VINELink names MDOC, use the state record instead of asking the sheriff to certify a state sentence computation.

Direct victims of an MDOC offender have an additional registration route through MDOC's Division of Victim Services. That process can be used alongside public VINELink registration. The Division is at 301 North Lamar Street, Jackson, MS 39201, and lists 601-359-5628, 601-359-3752, and 866-522-4087.
MDOC provides a separate notification request form for that victim-services route. It does not replace the public registration available through MS SAVIN, and the two processes should not be treated as duplicate records. One supports the department's direct victim-services contact, while the other automates participating-agency events. When the case crosses from Adams County Jail to MDOC, retain both registration confirmations and update contact details through the channel that issued each one.

Adams County Transfer Notifications
MS SAVIN's Registration Link is the most distinctive local feature for Adams County custody changes. MDOC explains that a registration can move from a county offender into the state or “other custody” system. That link can preserve notice when a person disappears from the Adams County jail because of transfer rather than community release.
Transfers are a real Adams County concern. A person may move from the downtown sheriff jail to MDOC, ICE, another county, or a receiving facility. The Adams County Detention Center on Hobo Fork Road is an ICE facility and is not the sheriff jail despite the similar name. VINELink does not replace the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Likewise, a move to a Louisiana receiving facility is still custody unless the responsible agencies document release.

Adams County Release Status Checks
A live county roster is strongest for someone still held. A populated release date on the Adams iSOMS booking is stronger for a completed county release event. VINELink sits between those uses: it can display an agency status and notify a subscriber that the electronic record changed. For an older Adams County release, the rolling jail feed may no longer show the booking, and VINELink is not promised as a permanent archive.
Use the source that owns the event. ACSO can provide the exact date, time, release code, and transfer field for a county booking. MDOC can provide a time sheet and signed release or discharge record for a state sentence. A court docket can explain a bond order, dismissal, sentence, or revocation, though the order time is not always the physical jail exit time.
A strong county confirmation pairs two records. For a bond release, compare the iSOMS release field or ACSO sheet with the bond or release order. For a state release, compare an MDOC event with the sheriff's MDOC-release notice, parolee detail, or signed §47-5-157 writing. When an ICE handoff is possible, use ODLS and call the facility or ICE information line. Each pair answers both what changed and which authority recorded it.
Adams County VINELink Limits
VINELink does not cover every custody system. Federal prisoners must be checked through the Bureau of Prisons locator. Immigration detainees must be checked through ICE ODLS and, when needed, the facility or ICE Detention Reporting and Information Line. A federal pretrial defendant may instead require the federal docket because not every U.S. Marshals Service detainee appears in BOP custody.
Data can lag. Notifications depend on a participating agency changing its electronic record. A common-name match can also point to the wrong person. Confirm identity with a number, age, case detail, or booking information, then call the listed agency if the exact release type matters. MS SAVIN itself advises users to confirm automated information.
The service also is not a court-disposition search. A judge's order may explain why custody should end, yet the order time and the booking-system update can differ. Use the Adams County court file for the legal action and the jail or MDOC record for the physical custody event. If a VINE message and another source show different times, identify which event each time measures before reporting a conflict.
No service result should be stretched beyond its field. A VINE event does not establish sentence completion, erase another detainer, or prove there is no other custody. It records the event supplied by the participating source.
